Mandarin Oriental Bangkok Hotel is a recently renovated 5-star luxury hotel.
The hotel is on the south side of the city overlooking the scenic Chao Phraya River.
It is also close to the business district.
Rooms & Amenities
The deluxe rooms come with a large King-sized bed option.
Although rooms can interconnect, the seating area is not so good for play in the deluxe.
There is a room option with a balcony to spice things up a little though.
All rooms come equipped with the amenities you would expect from a 5-star hotel.
This includes flat-screen satellite TVs and a fully-stocked mini-bar.
The ensuite bathroom is small, but it has a separate bathtub and a walk-in shower.
The Mandarin room has a skyline for sex under the stars, and the seating area is facing the bed.
There are two-bedroom suites with a furnished balcony for larger party group options.
If you have a really big group, you may want to consider the royal king suite.
Restaurants & Bars
There are four award-winning restaurants providing excellent service.
The most famous is “Le Normandie,” an amazing French fine-dining Michelin experience.
We also recognized them as the best Michelin Star restaurant in Bangkok.
Other fine dining includes “Lord Jim’s,” a seafood grill, “Kinu by Takagi”, a fine Kaiseki restaurant, and “Sala Rim”, Naam Traditional Thai.
In addition, the hotel also provides an international BBQ buffet at the Riverside Terrace, an excellent Cantonese restaurant, “The China House”.
If you want to relax and listen to jazz over a drink, you might want to try the “Bamboo Cocktail Bar”.
But watch out for the “Verandah” (all-day international food).
Mosquitos inside, plastic flowers, and bad service has disappointed some guests.
- Best Dining: Le Normandie
Facilities
If you need to cool down, there are two swimming pools: a shallow relaxation pool, and a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool.
They open from 6 am – 8 pm so if you are looking for a very late night dip, forget it.
You will find an extensive gym for a full-body workout, including weight training where staff can assist.
The sauna, steam rooms, and Jacuzzi are excellent.
The Oriental Spa provides relaxing massage treatments, hot tubs, and herbal scrubs.
- Highlights: Spa, restaurants, outdoor pool
