The Thai New Year celebration, Songkran, is Thailand’s biggest festival and celebration.
For the occasion, Bangkok turns into a massive playground with water fights and massive parties in every corner of the city.
This year, the festival will take place from Thursday, April 13, to Saturday, April 15, 2023, with events continuing over the weekend until Monday, April 17.
Here’s where to celebrate Songkran in Bangkok.
Songkran Festivals in Bangkok
Each year, Bangkok hosts several massive music festivals during Songkran.
The biggest music festivals are S20 Songkran and Siam Songkran, both bringing some of the best international DJs to the Venice of the East.
The best gentlemen’s club in the city, The PIMP, also organizes its own festivals with sexy bikini models and famous Thai artists.
The PIMP Wet & Wild Songkran Festival

The PIMP Bangkok is bringing over 300 Thai bikini models for a 5-day festival filled with concerts, wild pool parties, sexy shows, and more.
This year’s top Thai headliners are:
- Nong Natt
- Sek Loso
- Ble Patumrach
- Kratae R-Siam
With many supporting live bands and DJs.
For those who don’t feel like getting wet, the club has a dry zone where you can watch the concert and the shows while staying away from the water fights.
And as always in gentlemen’s clubs, you can get a VIP room for you and up to 100 friends, plus as many party girls as you want.

S2O Festival

Every year, S20 Festival is the biggest music festival in Bangkok during Songkran.
Thousands of people with water guns join for a massive water fight to see their favorite DJs during the hottest days of summer.
The three-day festival always has the best lineup in the city and, over the years, brought DJs like Martin Garrix, Zedd, Don Diablo, Afrojack, DJ Snake, and many others.
This year, Tiesto is coming back alongside big names like Nicky Romero, Sebastian Ingrosso, Vinai, and many more.
Siam Songkran Music Festival

The Siam Songkran music festival is coming back to Bangkok for the first time since the pandemic.
And for their 2023 edition, they’re bringing big names to Bangkok:
- Afrojack
- Hardwell
- Head Hunterz
- Yellow Claw
And over 50 supporting artists!
Pool Parties During Songkran

Like every year, all the major pool parties in Bangkok are hosting a special edition for Songkran, including:
Where to Join Water Fights?

The main areas to join water fights in Bangkok during Songkran are Soi Cowboy, Central World, Siam Square, and Khaosan Road.
You will see water fights in Silom Road this year but the road is not closed to the traffic so it’s not going to be as wild as before COVID.
Now, there are often more events with water fights spreading across the city.
So no matter where you’re going, take your water gun with you, put on your sunglasses, and be ready to fight.
